Privacy Policy
ERICA Nav has no accounts, no ads, no analytics and no tracking cookies. Your saved places and timetable stay in your browser. It uses your location only if you allow it, to show where you are on the map. The only thing that ever reaches the operator is an anonymous suggestion or complaint, and only if you write and send one.

ERICA Nav is an independent project. It is not run by, or affiliated with, Hanyang University.

The operator is also the person responsible for personal information (개인정보 보호책임자) under Korea's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA).
2. What is processed, and where it goes
ERICA Nav is mostly a static website. Apart from a suggestion or complaint that you choose to send (third row), the operator does not receive what you enter, so none of the other items reach the operator.

Course names and notes you type (for example a professor's name) are saved on your device only. Please do not enter anything you would not want stored on a shared computer.
Suggestions and complaints. The form asks for nothing but your message; please do not write personal details in it. To stop automated spam, your IP address is turned into a scrambled code that is kept for one hour, only to count how many messages one visitor sends. It is never stored with your message. Because messages are anonymous, to have one deleted email the privacy contact and quote or describe what you wrote so it can be found.
3. Location
ERICA Nav asks for your device location only when you tap the show-my-location button, and uses it only to show where you are on the map. Your position is never stored or sent to the operator. The app remembers only whether you allowed location, so it doesn't ask again.
While your location is on, the app also reads your phone's compass to show which way you're facing and, if you tap the location button again, to turn the map to match. iPhones ask for this separately. Compass readings are used on the spot and are never stored or sent anywhere.
If you choose My current position as the start or end of a route, those coordinates are sent to the public OSRM routing server to draw the route (see section 4). You can stop sharing your location at any time with the stop-sharing button in the app or in your browser settings.
4. Third parties and transfers abroad
- OSRM (Open Source Routing Machine) public server, router.project-osrm.org. When you ask for directions, your browser sends the start and end coordinates, and its IP address, to this server. The server may be located outside South Korea. It is used only to calculate the route. See project-osrm.org.
- Upstash (through Vercel). If you send a suggestion or complaint, the message is stored in a database provided by Upstash and connected through Vercel. It may be located outside South Korea.
- Web host. Like every website, the host receives your IP address and basic request details when you load the page. The host may be located outside South Korea.
- Nothing else. Fonts, scripts and icons are served from this site, so your browser does not contact font or script CDNs. There are no analytics, advertising or social-media widgets.
- Map data is © OpenStreetMap contributors.
The operator does not sell personal information and does not share it for advertising.
5. Cookies and similar storage
ERICA Nav sets no cookies. It uses your browser's local storage for features you ask for:
ericanav_localstorage— your saved places, timetable, language and map settings.ericanav_localstorage.loc— whether you allowed location, so you aren't asked again.
This storage is strictly necessary for the features you use and is never used for tracking or advertising, so no cookie banner is shown. If tracking or analytics are ever added, they will be off until you agree. Third-party servers named above may set their own technical data when you contact them; the operator does not control that.
6. Your rights and choices
Your data is on your device, so you control it directly: open About → Delete my data on this device to erase it, or clear this site's data in your browser settings.
Under PIPA, and where they apply the GDPR or UK GDPR, you may ask to access, correct, delete or restrict the processing of personal information about you, and withdraw consent at any time. Because the operator keeps no account or contact details about you, most requests can be met by the steps above; for anything else, including deleting a message you sent, write to the privacy contact in section 1.
You may complain to a data-protection authority: in Korea the Personal Information Protection Commission or the KISA Privacy Infringement Report Center; elsewhere, your local supervisory authority.
7. Children
ERICA Nav is meant for university students and staff. It is not directed at children under 14, has no accounts, and does not knowingly collect information from children.
8. Security
Because your data stays on your device, it is as safe as your device is. Anyone using the same browser profile can see it. Messages sent through the suggestion box are kept in an access-controlled database that only the operator can open. The site is intended to be served over HTTPS.
9. Changes
If this policy changes, the date above changes. If we ever start collecting data, this page will be updated before we do.
개인정보처리방침
ERICA Nav에는 회원가입, 광고, 분석 도구, 추적용 쿠키가 없습니다. 저장한 장소와 시간표는 이용자의 브라우저에만 보관됩니다. 위치 정보는 이용자가 허용한 경우에만 지도에 내 위치를 표시하는 데 사용합니다. 운영자에게 전달되는 것은 이용자가 직접 작성해 보낸 익명의 건의·불만 메시지뿐입니다.

2. 처리하는 정보와 전달 경로
ERICA Nav는 대부분 정적 웹사이트입니다. 이용자가 직접 보내는 건의·불만(셋째 행)을 제외하면 운영자는 이용자가 입력한 내용을 받지 않으므로, 나머지 정보는 운영자에게 전달되지 않습니다.

이용자가 입력한 과목명과 메모(예: 교수님 성함)는 이용자의 기기에만 저장됩니다. 공용 컴퓨터에 남기고 싶지 않은 내용은 입력하지 마세요.
건의 및 불만. 입력란에는 메시지 내용만 있으며, 개인정보는 적지 말아 주세요. 자동 스팸을 막기 위해 IP 주소를 암호화된 코드로 바꿔 한 시간 동안만 보관하며, 한 사람이 보낸 메시지 수를 세는 데에만 씁니다. 이 코드는 메시지와 함께 저장되지 않습니다. 메시지는 익명이므로, 삭제를 원하시면 개인정보 문의처로 이메일을 보내 작성한 내용을 인용하거나 설명해 주세요. 그래야 찾을 수 있습니다.
3. 위치 정보
ERICA Nav는 이용자가 내 위치 보기 버튼을 누를 때에만 기기 위치를 요청하며, 지도에 내 위치를 표시하는 데에만 사용합니다. 위치는 저장되거나 운영자에게 전송되지 않습니다. 다시 묻지 않도록 위치 사용 허용 여부만 기억합니다.
위치 사용 중에는 내가 바라보는 방향을 표시하고, 위치 버튼을 한 번 더 누르면 지도를 그 방향으로 돌리기 위해 휴대폰의 나침반 정보도 읽습니다. 아이폰에서는 이에 대한 허용을 따로 묻습니다. 나침반 정보는 그 자리에서만 쓰이며 저장되거나 어디로도 전송되지 않습니다.
경로의 출발지나 도착지로 내 현재 위치를 선택하면, 경로를 그리기 위해 해당 좌표가 공개 OSRM 경로 서버로 전송됩니다(4항 참고). 앱의 위치 공유 중지 버튼이나 브라우저 설정에서 언제든 위치 공유를 중지할 수 있습니다.
4. 제3자 제공 및 국외 이전
- OSRM(Open Source Routing Machine) 공개 서버(router.project-osrm.org). 길찾기를 요청하면 이용자의 브라우저가 출발지·도착지 좌표와 IP 주소를 이 서버로 보냅니다. 이 서버는 대한민국 밖에 있을 수 있으며, 경로 계산 목적으로만 사용됩니다. 자세한 내용은 project-osrm.org를 참고하세요.
- Upstash(Vercel을 통해 연결). 건의·불만을 보내면 메시지가 Vercel을 통해 연결된 Upstash의 데이터베이스에 저장됩니다. 이 데이터베이스는 대한민국 밖에 있을 수 있습니다.
- 웹 호스팅. 모든 웹사이트와 마찬가지로, 페이지를 불러올 때 호스팅 업체가 IP 주소와 기본적인 요청 정보를 받습니다. 호스팅 서버는 대한민국 밖에 있을 수 있습니다.
- 그 외에는 없습니다. 글꼴, 스크립트, 아이콘은 이 사이트에서 직접 제공하므로 브라우저가 별도의 글꼴·스크립트 서버에 접속하지 않습니다. 분석 도구, 광고, 소셜 미디어 위젯도 없습니다.

운영자는 개인정보를 판매하거나 광고 목적으로 제공하지 않습니다.
5. 쿠키 및 유사 저장소
ERICA Nav는 쿠키를 설정하지 않습니다. 이용자가 요청한 기능을 위해 브라우저 로컬 저장소만 사용합니다.

이 저장소는 이용자가 사용하는 기능에 꼭 필요하며 추적이나 광고에 쓰이지 않으므로 쿠키 동의 배너를 표시하지 않습니다. 추후 추적·분석 도구를 도입하게 되면 이용자가 동의하기 전에는 작동하지 않도록 하겠습니다. 위에 적은 외부 서버에 접속할 때 해당 서버가 자체적으로 기술 정보를 남길 수 있으며, 운영자는 이를 통제하지 않습니다.
6. 이용자의 권리와 선택
데이터가 이용자의 기기에 있으므로 직접 관리할 수 있습니다. 정보 → 이 기기의 내 데이터 삭제를 누르거나 브라우저 설정에서 이 사이트의 데이터를 지우면 됩니다.
이용자는 「개인정보 보호법」(해당하는 경우 GDPR·영국 GDPR 포함)에 따라 자신의 개인정보에 대한 열람, 정정, 삭제, 처리정지를 요구하고 동의를 언제든 철회할 수 있습니다. 운영자는 이용자의 계정이나 연락처 정보를 보유하지 않으므로 대부분은 위 방법으로 해결됩니다. 보낸 메시지의 삭제를 포함한 그 밖의 요청은 1항의 개인정보 문의처로 보내 주세요.
개인정보 침해에 대한 신고·상담은 개인정보보호위원회 또는 개인정보침해 신고센터(KISA)에 할 수 있으며, 해외 이용자는 거주 지역의 감독기관에 문의할 수 있습니다.
7. 아동
ERICA Nav는 대학 구성원을 위한 서비스이며 만 14세 미만 아동을 대상으로 하지 않습니다. 회원가입이 없고, 아동의 정보를 알면서 수집하지 않습니다.
8. 안전성
데이터가 이용자의 기기에 있으므로 기기의 보안 수준만큼만 안전합니다. 같은 브라우저 프로필을 쓰는 사람은 이 데이터를 볼 수 있습니다. 건의·불만으로 보낸 메시지는 운영자만 열 수 있는 접근 제한 데이터베이스에 보관됩니다. 이 사이트는 HTTPS로 제공하는 것을 원칙으로 합니다.
9. 방침의 변경
방침이 바뀌면 위의 날짜가 바뀝니다. 앞으로 정보를 수집하게 되는 경우, 수집을 시작하기 전에 이 페이지를 먼저 갱신하겠습니다.
